One singer, one’s inspiration

Today,

I switched on my computer…

And learnt that one of my favourite Idols has passed away…

She is Whitney Houston…

Singing some of my favourite songs back in 1980s and 1990s…

Like…

“The Greatest Love of All”

“One moment in time”

“I will always love you”

“Saving all my love for you”

“I believe in you and me”

“When you believe” feat with Mariah Carey

And many more…

Her songs touched me since I was just a child…

And most of them are great inspirations in my life.

‘The Greatest Love of All’ taught me to love ourselves,

Even when we are lost and out…

There is no other way to love but to be the love to those around us…

‘I will always love you’ allowed me to swim into Whitney’s powerful voice.

She hit all the high notes with ease…

Something that I truly WOWed at…

She really caught me smiling while listening to it…

And it’s beautiful…

Really…

You should listen to it…

‘Saving all my love for you’ was the very first song I heard from her…

I was just 6 years old then….

Admittedly, I don’t really understand the meaning behind the song…

But I can sing it in full after I heard it on video the very first time…

It is slow and catchy…

Something about this song just makes me sing it non-stop…

‘I believe in you and me’ is a very sweet ballad song…

It’s from the movie “The Preacher’s Wife”

There isn’t much high note to go…

But once I listen to it…

The song repeat in my video until I switch off my computer…

That’s how good the song is…

‘When you believe’ feat with Mariah Carey is another hit in my list…

It taught me that no matter how we pray…

We need to believe in our prayer…

It may seem impossible in the first place…

But once we put our trust in it…

It will surely come true…

The last song in the list is the best of all…

It is the one that encourage me in life…

‘One moment in time…’

The song that taught me to run my own race…

It means that,

I will put a reward at the end of the line…

And I race with the self-given dateline for completion…

Once I am done…

I get the reward…

And this song is the one that give me the idea that…

In every race that I run,

There will always be a time we will fall during the journey…

But those who rise up and move on are those with endurance…

Because of this…

I want to prove to myself that

I am able to finish my own race…

I can run further with my dream…

And reach my destiny the way I want it to be….

And be FREE from impossibilities!

That’s how powerful a song can be…

What more,

If it is sung by one of the extraordinary voices,

It certainty becomes an encouragement to the world.

That’s why I love music so much…

Because I know that music can hit us back into our inner soul…

Especially if it is a ‘hit’

Honestly speaking,

It is not easy to write an excellent song…

And most of all…

To sing it in such a way that will bring the listeners into the music…

Most of the time we can only lure those who are gentle…

But to be a successful singer and musician,

We must have the power to break stone-hearted audiences in order to be victorious…

And Whitney Houston’s voice stops me from being a critic to her music…

It’s hard to find fault with her…

The lyrics may not be nice…

But when you listen to the way she sings…

The overall music becomes flawless…

And she enthuse me to stay true with my music…

Continue to play like the way she sings…

Putting in my best in everything that I do…

And I know there’ll be an improvement in everything I do…

As long as my heart is in it…

At 100%...

Now,

I am writing a musical piece…

My heart didn’t stop me from giving up on this piece midway…

I take it as a brilliant sign…

I would like to say,

It’s the very first time my entire life change for music…

It makes me work very hard for it…

Unlike last time when everything is so easy to obtain…

That’s why…

Smile…

They make me happy...

They are one of my beautiful memories...

They are my birthday presents...

It has been a long time since I wrote on this precious blog…

Oh yes, this is my precious blog…

It is like a gem to me…

Well,

Back to the main topic – smile…

It was quite awkward at first…

To have this 5-letter word struck into my mind…

It haunted me while I was doing some window shopping…

I was preoccupied with my coming English test which is on the next Saturday…

And I was thinking of my 2 current subjects’ assignment to be complete…

I wondered whether I have enough time to get it done…

I know I have enough time and I can get it done if my effort is in…

Because the little voice in my heart told me so…

And I always trust the little voice inside me…

Because it is my guardian angel…

No one can protect me better than the little voice does…

So what happened was that…

I was walking around the shopping mall which is opposite the English centre…

Then I passed by Isetan department store…

And for some unknown reasons,

My leg took me into the department store and I found myself inside a kiddie section…

My favourite place to be honest!

And then I saw a cute greyish soft toy popularly known as “Totoro”

The image of the toy tickled my heart…

And I started to smile while playing with it…

Without realizing,

Someone said to me,

“Oh my, you have such a sweet smile and you’re so beautiful.”

I stunned and turned to my right…

There was a young European lady smiling down at me…

And I didn’t even know she was there watching me…

But I remembered my manners and bow with thanks while flashing her my smile…

After a little chat,
The European lady left my side,

And I realized that it has been some time since I last smiled…

That last time was when I gave my lecturer her birthday gift…

After that,

My smile was off…

Sometimes,

During Chinese New Year I grinned a bit because I do not want to show my true emotion…

There was these very heavy feeling inside me that force my smile to shut off…

One of reasons is that I was unwell…

But not wanting anyone to worry of me…

I just put on a smile…

I am a very honest and direct person…

If I am not happy…

I will not pretend to smile…

But since chinese New Year is a very happy occasion,

I don’t want to destroy the festival mood…

But all in all,

I just know that,

It has been a difficult period for me to cheer up…

Even some of my lecturers and classmates noticed that…

I guess,

The truth shows…

Today, it turns out to be a surprise…

A cute little teddy bear can bring back my smile…

It really makes me wonder why…

It is such an innocent little thing…

Yet it can tickle my heart and bring back my cheerful self…

I wonder what I will do if there is no cute teddy around to cheer me up…

Oh my gosh…

I am going back to childhood…

The day that I don’t even want to grow up!

Well,

I guess it doesn’t matter what bring a smile back to your heart…

The most important thing is that…

You relieve your burden onto something that makes you happy…

And that's where I learned something else…

When stress time comes…

We have no mood to smile for ourselves much less for others…

All we did is to mob everywhere we go…

We sort of carrying the burden with us and throw it onto some innocent human…

We didn’t really think how that innocent fellow feels…

Sometimes we didn’t even realize that the innocent fellow has feelings too…

But all we ever think is to find an outlet to explode…

Friends,

I am sure once in awhile...
You feel that way too…

Of course,

I know some of us try not to behave like that…

But when you want to ‘explode’ you just do it…

There is always a limit within us…

Today you may smile; tomorrow your smile is on but slightly out…

The next day, the light bulb diminishing its power…

And before you know, your smile becomes a frown…

Go a little further and you will eventually burst…

And that’s where people around you start running for shelter…

Friends,

I believe all of us have our (bad mood) day…

I won’t say that we all are perfect people…

Because the truth is that…

We are not!

That’s why once in awhile we need to take a break…

Go out and see something that will make us smile all over again…
Talk to someone who is willing to cheer us up...
Play with toys that make us forget our worries..
And all of us need something to recharge our happy energy…

I have a very good lecturer whom always tries her best to make me happy…

I know it…

And I am very thankful for her….
And to my parents and friends

When I come home,

I noticed that I barely look at my favourite things…

I was so busy with my work that…

I went to sleep without taking a minute to admire my Lego creations and soft toys…

I entirely forgot that there are little things that need my attention…

And that is the little thing that will bring a smile to my heart…

But now that I am back home,

I went to my room and look at my precious toys…

I started to recall where they came from…

And how did I have them…

Every item has beautiful significance…

And every one of them brought back a smile to my dear heart…

That’s where my heart melts…

At last,

I can go to sleep knowing that tomorrow will be another day to fill with happiness…

Because I know there is always a place…

And an item that make you recall some wonderful memories you have left behind…

And it’s your smile…

Learning is part of our experiences

Holding a camera is easy...

But using it to take a perfect picture is the challenging part...

This is where we have to find the right angle and the right setting before capturing...

Most people just press the snap button and forget the whole thing...

But a photographer will spend an hour to adjust the the entire situation before he can give it a shot...

In fact, they will take at least 5 shots before they call it 'marvellous'

That's the exact representative of our life...

Learning and adjusting based on what we experience in life...

Every little thing that we do is part of a learning process.

Some may look simple at time…

While others can be a bit difficult to achieve…

When I first learn how to encourage myself to study,

It was hard…

I never thought I can do well in it…

To me,

It is the biggest joke in my life…

But as I try to work on it…

I find that the joke is not true…

In fact, I managed to become a good student…

As I continue to improve myself,

I learn that it is not so difficult at all…

Besides, it becomes part of an enjoyment….

I don't feel like wanting to stop working or even studying…

To me,

It has become part of me…

Even if I don’t study by book,

I take an everyday life situation as a learning process…

I watch how a chef cooks my favourite meal…

Or even observe how my lecturers conduct their lesson…

Based on their actions,

I learn to pick up some good points and modified it to my own style…

Therefore,

Learning is actually very interesting…

You witness things in life…

You get the positive values in it…

And you use it to enhance yourself…

Life is that…

Sometimes,

People don’t get to teach you everything…

It may be because they don’t feel like teaching you,

Or maybe they don’t know such thing,

Or they are not good in explaining it to you…

So,

Most of the time,

We have to rely on our own judgement to teach our self the actual value of life…

That’s how we need to learn things…

And that how I learn…

Grab some good points from different people and different locations,

Then teach yourself how to get it done the same way,

Make it a habit to train yourself until it becomes part of you.

And you will gradually improve yourself to be a better people…

I will not say that it is easy…

Because I have my own downfalls in life before….

I broke down many times…

And I even cried my heart out at almost every failure…

But I pull myself up and move on…

One will think that I am very strong,

As I can continue with life without feeling hurt....

But let me tell you the truth…

Inside me,

There are millions of broken pieces,

Each and every shatter piece owned a meaning in my life…

There are ‘pieces ‘that indicated my broken friendships,

Some are from people who used to bullied me in schools,

Some are those who cheated me and haven’t even apologized at all

Some are careless mistakes that I have done and it embarrased myself

I have forgiven them all…

I no longer hold any anger to it…

But it will continue to be part of me because this is where I learn to grow up…

This is where I learn to experience real-life…

And from here,

I realized that life is not a fairy-tale where I will meet my prince at the end of the storybook…

In fact,

It will be a place for me to understand the truth that most human being is avoiding from…

It doesn’t matter how cruel our life story will be…

Because cruelty is where we learn best

But of course,

I don’t wish anybody’s life to be cruel…

Because none of us deserve to live a horrible life…

But we need to understand that…

We learn better in a situation that will change us into someone that we never thought of…

And that’s how we will experience the real world…

And it is by learning with a passion…

Learning based on our experiences in life...

Learn to understand yourself…

Be the person you always want to be...

Be the one you wanted to be looked at...

Be the one you are proud to share your own life tales with...

And that's including the good and the bad that pine in you!

A lot of people thought they know themselves by --

Listening to what others commented of them.

Sometimes,

We even thought that knowing what we want in life is more than enough…

We thought that,

We know some basic information of our self,

We do good things and no bad things then we are better off…

Friends,

I believe all of us know of our own weaknesses

Without being told what they are…

But unfortunately,

Even if we knew about it…

Some of us will try to deny it…

To some people,

Their weaknesses are taboo…

No one is allowed to discover it…

Even if it has been found,

The truth cannot be admitted…

Actually in reality,

A lot of people are like…

They want to be known for all the things…

I can say that it is very natural…

Being known to possess certain weaknesses,

One will be scared to face the truth…

When I was young,

I have too many weaknesses until people got pissed off with me…

And yet, I don’t know what I have done…

Sometimes, I got scolded without knowing why.

When I asked,

I was told that I did something wrong,

In fact, I was even pinpointed on it…

Inside me,

I thought what I did is 100% correct and no mistake…

How on earth do I know that it is something so abnormal to others?

As I grow up,

I slowly learn to understand that,

There are weaknesses in me that I have to change…

If I don’t change,

Nobody will expect anything from me…

Because they already know that this is me…

But if I take the initiative to change for the better,

Surely they will start to have different feeling on me…

But all in all,

The most important person to accept this is --- Myself.

Little by little I start to take note of my own actions,

Even if it seems awkward at times,

I learn to bear with it…

Nothing comes easy when you want something out of ordinary…

Some of my friends were very surprised with the changes in me…

They thought I was conquered by an alien as I don’t act the way I usually do,

But I don’t bother…

To me,

It is no longer important on how they look at me…

It is more on how I look at myself…

Therefore,

I set some rule for myself to follow,

As long as I do things within my own conscience and know of my own actions,

I am fine…

Even if I have made a mistake,

I train myself to take note of it…

Because that’s where I will pick up my own weaknesses and change it for the better…

Of course,

Some of you might said,

Certain part of us is already fixed and it’s hard to change…

It’s truth,

I don’t argue with that…

I have a very obvious flaw that even I myself also get annoyed…

From young,

I have been very absent-minded,

There are times I might unconsciously forgot something or even misplace things,

But to save myself from trouble,

I am actually blessed with excellent memory…

I am able to recall when the last time I had the lost item…

Although it isn’t something to be proud of…

But at least,

I know first handed that I have forgotten or misplaced something…

And I do know where I placed it…

Even until today,

I still can forget where I put my things

Even after reminding myself about it repeatedly…

Honestly,

I don’t know whether it is a disease or what…

But I just know that it is something that I cannot deny or even avoid…

Even if I don’t like it,

I know that I have to admit it is part of me…

Sometimes, I am ashamed of it…

But over the years,

I started to accept it as part of me…

This is where I learn to accept myself…

It is also one part where I know most people will feel appalling to face...

But of course,

Aceepting doesn't mean that everything is correct...

There are times you will need to take into consideration of how to make it better...

Friends,

I believe that you also have your own weaknesses which you dislike…

It doesn’t have to be forgetfulness…

It can be something else which you do not what to say it out….

There will be certain part of you that make you feel very resentful of yourself…

You know you don’t like it…

And you try to change it…

But despite to that,

You are still clinging to these weaknesses you are avoiding…

This is something that I know all of us dislike…

But even with that,

We need to learn to accept it and modify into something better…

We cannot expect to change overnight

Because we are not entirely perfect to avoid mistake for the rest of our life….

All we need to know is that,

We don’t go against the law,

And we try our best to be good,

Then it is acceptable to others…

But most importantly,

You are able to receive yourself as someone you are entirely happy to be with…

Goodbye Year 2011

Very soon Year 2011 will come to an end…

Hard to believe so much has happened…

Everything seems like a blink of an eye…

Well,

Allow me to recall what happened this year…

Hmmm…

I’ll go by my college semester…

Since it much easier to elaborate…

As you can guess,

Thing change gradually by semester…

Well,

At least for me though…

This year I have 3 semesters wrapped up…

1^st semester of the year – From January 2011 to April 2011

2^nd semester of the year – From May 2011 to August 2011

3^rd semester of the year – From September 2011 to November 2011

The 1^st semester was an ok moment.

Ok as in…

Nothing so special happen…

It was a downhill moment for my studies as my GPA drop tremendously due to one of the subjects…

Celebrated Chinese New Year in a similar manner…

This year birthday was bliss…

Life was peaceful…

2^nd semester was a great challenge…

4 subjects in a roll…

But luckily I survived with a ‘Dean List Award’…

I was like “OMG!” and almost fainted on the spot…

This semester have plenty of outings…

And it was fun fun FUN!!!

I really enjoyed myself!

3^rd semester the craziest semester among the three…

Nearly went insane…

Each subject was cramped into 7 weeks lesson before sitting for Final…

But all in all…

I managed to sit on top of the world…

Wah…

Happy until I can’t sleep…

The first half of the year,

I seldom go out as I was so busy focusing on my studies…

But the 2^nd half,

My schedule started to fill with several outings…

To me,

This year has been a good year…

Besides my life,

I see gradually change in my own personality…

I find myself happier and wiser…

I learn to let go of things that is not for me to cling on…

I learn to smile upon disappointment and failure…

I learn to occupy myself with all my favourite things…

All in all…

I learn to see the situation in a different angle…

It maybe a little bit harder in the first place,

But after awhile,

I learn to get used to it and make it part of my life…

Life is great…

Although a bit of challenges here and there…

But that’s what life is made of…

If there is no challenge…

Then it will be very boring, right?

So,

That’s my year 2011 review…

Let’s pray for an even better year ahead for 2012…

I believe the changes happened in Year 2011 is a preparation for Year 2012…

Little by little…

Life will move upward from the stepping stone…

Therefore,

Wish everyone a very ‘Happy New Year 2012…

New Resolution for Year 2012

Well,

Just like last year,

I have my yearly resolution in mind…

But before I go into my new resolution…

Let’s look back at my year 2011 resolution written last year…

For Year 2011

1) Move on to a new level of maturity thinking... I guess... This blog really helps me to reveal most of my thoughts because from here, I learn to see a lot of things that I usually 'ignored' in life. With this blog, I learn to expand my psychological view and recalled some of my past experiences... Thus pushing me to think critically of how things feel like and how to solve it... And I have to say that this blog has become part of me... Part of my secret soul... The voice that whispers within my heart...

2) To expand my knowledge relate to studying, working and performing area. Well, I have been a very good student, good employee and also keeping up with all my practices. It's a good thing... But I know right from my heart that there is definitely alot for me to improve myself in this field... Let's see how many changes I can create out of this line.

3) Reaching out to people. Well, I have to admit that ever since I left my popular group of so-called 'friends', my social life becomes out-of-order already. My current social interactions involve mostly from my current college. But I know that this kind of connection is not enough because one fine day, when I go out to the society, I need to go and get to know more people from the outside world.

Well,

After reading them…

I am glad to say that I have fulfilled 2/3 of my objectives…

Little by little I am changing for the better….

It is like a dream true…

So now,

It’s time to move on to my new resolutions…

For Year 2012

1) Continue to keep up an excellent grade in my studies. It is unbelievable but true – I did very well for my previous finals. The three semesters in the year of 2011, my grades have been up to the par which is so much better than my own expectations. Therefore, I hope to keep up the good grade for my last semester which will begin in January 2012 and end in April 2012.

2) Build up my career using my knowledge. It may be a bit too early but it is good to have this in mind. At least I know where I am heading to. More on it as the day comes by…

3) Continue to strengthen my musical journey by practicing and composing hard. It is a challenge as I also have to balance with my studies. But I believe that when we want something and we work hard on it, it will come true… Nothing is impossible as long as you believe and make it real… So that’s what I am doing regardless to the circumstances…

4) To obtain 3.50 and above for CGPA. I honestly need it if I really want to further studies. The higher the better. If possible, I am also looking into scholarship as I prefer to depend on my own capability to get access into the university. Although my parents can afford to pay for my fees but I rather use my own knowledge to contribute into my own education bill.

So far,

That’s all I can think of…

Well,

Along the way,

I might come up with new resolutions…

So let’s hope that whatever I want to achieve will come true…

And I hope that if anyone of you is doing a New Year resolution,

You will make yours come true too…

Inner calling…

I believe every one of us has dreams…

Some manage to make it come true…

Some will find alternative ways to be successful…

But all in all,

Every one of us has an idea of what we want in life…

Different people have different wishes and dreams…

In today’s generation,

Our life is much easier compare to our parent’s.

It is because our parents already help us to establish part of our goal…

But some of us might have to start from the stretch,

Especially if our parents do not have any idea of what we want…

For example,

Some youngsters are very talented in music,

If they are lucky,

They have musical family members whom are able to nurture them into their particular area from birth…

But some are not as lucky as that…

Therefore,

They have to find their own way to stand out…

These are the people who have to start from stretch…

They may not discover themselves until they come across it…

People like that will take a long time to find their calls…

I am one of them who start from stretch…

Basically to say,

I am a music lover in my own way…

None of my family members are musically incline…

To them,

Music is noise…

They don’t understand why I love music so much when there are other things to choose from…

They even see music as a waste of time…

But to me,

It is not like that…

Well,

I can go on debating with them about music…

But I just lay it off…

I find my own way to love music…

I find my own way to stand up for myself and establish my muse…

Because this is my calling…

Nobody can see it but only I can…

As hurt as I am because none of my family member has the same calling as me…

I told myself,

“At least they didn’t stop you from what you are doing…

Although they don’t agree to it…”

Friends…

I know some of you might be in the same situation as me…

You have an inner calling in you…

But none of your family members share your view…

You know somewhere out there…

You have to find a way to stand up and establish yourself…

You have to go thru all sort of obstacle to show them who you really are…

It is not easy especially if you don’t have any support…

I come to know that there are quite a number of talented people out there…

But some of them are hidden away…

They don’t have the privilege to shine for once…

Until they reach a certain point in life…

These are the people who will have to struggle to level-up themselves…

These are the people who will have to overcome all sort of obstacles in life…

And most of them do not have much support from those closest to them….

I believe…

Everyone has a call…

But each of us is different…

Some are good in dancing…

Some are marvellous in playing the piano…

Some can sing until they touch the audiences’ heart…

Some are excellent in acting and etc…

Those who are not creatively inclined will not be left out…

They will definitely be academically-gifted…

Or even turn out to be an excellent sport player…

All we have to do is to find out our best interest in life…

It doesn’t matter what people think of your talent…

Only you know what you want…

And how far you can go…

Only you know the real you on the inside…

Nobody can tell you who you can be and what you have to be…

People only look at you on the surface…

But nobody actually goes deep into your heart and find out your inner strength…

People only see your appearance…

They look at the clothes you wear,

They listen to the way you talk,

They see the way you act…

They may also discover some of your hidden traits…

But they still cannot get thru your actual calling in life…

Until you perform what is hidden in your heart --- your passion and your talent…

Some people might agree with your muse…

But some don’t…

Again,

We shouldn’t let them rule us…

We should take hold of our reflection…

Because as I said,

Only you know what you want in life…

So, you should go for it and achieve it to the top…

If you don’t have the confident,

Pray about it…

And take out your equipments and start practicing on your talent…

The more you practice…

The better you become…

It’s ok to make mistake along the way…

That’s how you will improve…

People who are scare to make mistake will not learn anything…

Remember, no one is perfect…

Therefore it is ok to make mistake but try not to repeat it…

That’s how talented people learn…

After you have gain your confident,

Then you may want to share with someone whom has the same interest as you…

From there you will exchange opinions and learn something new…

Remember,

Some people may be very frank…

In case they criticize your work,

Learn that they are guiding you in some point of views…

Therefore,

You shouldn’t feel so discourage…

Instead, you should take the time and reassess whether or not changes need to be done…

It is actually very difficult for those who do not have much encouragement…

Especially from their family members and friends…

These are the people who have to go thru everything on their own…

They even have to find a way out to get to their dreams…

From finding someone who is willing to guide them with the basic to someone who is willing to let them shine out as a professional…

It may take years to a lifetime in order to achieve it…

But those who are truly passionate are more than willing to sacrifice their whole life to make it come true…

I know some of you are willing to press on ‘till the end…

But some will not…

Be Grateful…

Learning to see the world in a whole new view,

One should be able to grasp the inner feeling of being valued by others…

Especially after doing a good deed…

In the olden days,

We were taught to appreciate every little thing that befalls on us…

Including the ‘not-so-good’ situations…

But to the younger generations,

It is no longer like what our parents have been taught…

To them,

They think that they deserve every good thing…

Because they are worthy for it…

But when someone did something bad to them…

They put the blame on others without realizing that they are also part of the fault…

So much for all the good deeds displayed…

In a conventional understanding,

Good deed occurs is because…

The person is willing to sacrifice themselves for being good…

Not because they want any benefit in return…

However,

The theory has changed…

And much to my disappointment…

It is all due to human being’s attitude -- for being ungrateful…

I have encountered so many people with snobbish air…

After doing something good to them,

They just grabbed whatever they want…

And walked off with a mere ‘thank you’…

One will think that…

“Oh, they’ve said ‘thank you’…

That means they appreciate my help…

So there is no problem about it…”

But when the person you have been helping all these while…

Went behind your back and backstabbed you…

You feel so hurt until you are lost…

Then in your heart,

You asked yourself,

“What have I done wrong?

I thought I already helped them and/ or given them what they want…

Shouldn’t they be happy?

Then why must they go behind my back and backstabbed me?”

Friends,

I have seen these countless of times…

Until it becomes so boring…

It is nothing new to me…

Almost every day and everywhere I went,

Definitely there will be one or two spots with the exact or even alternative storyline…

It has become like a chapter in a storybook that I’ll just roughly flip thru without reading it…

It is all the same…

Humans are naturally selfish…

They only think for themselves and rarely for others…

They take whatever is easy to gain for granted…

Without realizing that what they have is…

Actually a difficult routine to those who have been yearning for it…

Friends,

I believe that…

You were there before…

You have taken lots of advantages for granted…

You have walked away without being entirely satisfying…

You have poked behind someone’s back even after being helped numerous of times…

Well,

And so do I…

I confess on that…

I am a human…

I am not perfect…

I have done wrong…

And so, I trained myself to learn to be grateful in every possible way…

Now that I have opened my eyes to the world…

I learn that…

Every little thing that comes to us is actually a blessing…

Be it good or bad…

Actually if you analyze the situations properly,

You will find that nothing is truly bad…

And the bad thing is actually good…

It is where you can see the truth that has been covered by the good…

So,

When people do good things to me…

I will tell myself to say ‘thank you’ to the doer…

And train my brain to remember the good deed done for me…

And if possible,

Return the favour in a positive manner…

On the contrary,

When people hurt me like hell…

I will tell myself,

“Don’t take revenge…

But bless them with goodness…

Humans are not perfect; hence they are not perfect…

And so I’m imperfect….

One day, they will understand the cause of their own actions…”

It is not easy to be appreciative…

Because (again) we are not perfect…

We tend to forget the good things people has done for us until we come across it…

But by the time,

The person who does good thing to us is no longer there…

It may be too late to value them already…

Therefore,

We should pass the goodness to those who need it…

Friends,

As I mentioned earlier,

All of us as humans are selfish in nature…

We love to criticize others more than praising them…

We take all the good things with a snobbish thought rather than a grateful heart…

There is hardly any gratitude display within us…

Until unwanted circumstances occur…

And that’s where we started looking for help…

Those who are scare of your situation will immediately disappear from your view…

But the kind-hearted ones will support you in every occasion…

Even then…

People like these are uncommon…

Majority only appear when you have good things to share…

But vanish when help is in need…

Friends,

Life is too short…

We have taken so many things for granted from birth till now…

I believe most of us are trained to appreciate every little thing that is given to us…

But how many of us actually applied it into our life?

There are lots of people around us…

But how many of them are sincere with their giving?

How many of them are purely generous with their possession?

Most of us give for the sake of benefit in return…

Most of us give because we want something back…

And most of the things we want are mostly for ourselves…

But hardly any of us give because of someone else and not for us…

Therefore,

When we come across those who are willing to assist us,

We should be thankful to them in every aspect…

It doesn’t matter whether they are paid to do the work…

As long as they are putting in the effort…

As long as there is sincerity in their actions…

That will be sufficient…

So,

Be grateful…

And bless others well…

Improving our EQ…

So many people are talking about how to be an intelligent person…

As in the sense of bookish-smart…

But most of us are not concern of our emotional intelligent…

Of course,

We do know that our emotions are one of our major basic in life…

We release ourselves from the inside to the world by showing our happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy, ears, smile and etc…

But most of the time we are not always aware of it…

Our emotions just go according to our feelings…

For example,

If a person is angry with someone,

Straightway anger shows on his face…

Or even if he or she is happy,

Immediately you can see a smile on his or her face…

It is just so natural…

That we never even thought of it...

Because it comes from deep inside our heart…

But nowadays,

Younger generations are getting more impulsive than ever…

How they feel toward their surrounding,

That’s what everyone will get from them…

There are many incidents where youth are much more outspoken than their superiors…

It is a good thing as well as it is a negative impact…

Good thing as in,

You will get the entire truth from them without needing to battle an eyelash with them…

You don’t have to worry if there is any secret hidden within them…

Because whatever they have inside their heart is already listed out clearly…

But the negative impact is that,

They are unaware that not everybody will accept their outrageous feelings…

Some people will think that they are very immature as they don’t know how to cover themselves…

In my point of view,

I will not say which one if better…

To me,

Both have its good and bad…

Depending on how you see it…

I think,

It is very normal for us to share our feelings with others…

And that’s what I can see our younger generation are doing well in it…

But the flaw is that,

When we want to share our feelings with others…

We either choose the wrong person or even the wrong method to express ourselves…

We may not realize it…

But not everyone enjoy the way we share our inner soul…

How about this,

Ask yourself,

“How do you usually react when people poke fun at you?

Will you jump up in rebuke?

Or will you just look at the person with displeasure?

I have to say that,

Many of us always jump up in rebuke when someone pokes fun at us…

We are so defensive until people think that it is no fun teasing us at all…

But if you look at all the film stars from the TV show and famous people who are constantly in the limelight during interviews,

You will learn that most of them have very high Emotional Quotient (EQ)

It is noticeable especially when reporters keep on quizzing them on matters that they refuse to share…

You can see that even when they decline to answer the reporters’ questions,

They reject it very smoothly without any anger…

Of course,

Human nature always put us on limitation…

Once our patience is gone…

We will eventually explode…

But even then,

Famous people know when and how to react in specific style to avoid negative image.

In your eyes,

They may seem fake as they have to act in certain manner to bring about them...

They have to ensure that nobody knows their secrets as well as their weak personalities…

But if you understand their position well,

You will know that they have to protect their private life…

As not everyone is willing to share their entire lifestyle with others…

Because once in awhile,

We will definitely need our own personal space regardless to our popularity…

Therefore,

We need to understand that even famous people have feelings and emotions…

But they are ‘street-smart’ people…

As in,

They know how to answer reporters’ questions without being offensive…

They are, of course, unlike ordinary people…

They have to think 10 times more than normal people do before answering any questions asked….

Whereas,

We all ordinary people didn’t really take the effort to think twice of how we are going to react…

In fact,

Some of us even jump into the conclusion before the storyline is properly investigated.

Friends,

Admittedly,

Most of us usually don’t think further ahead when it comes to sensitive issues….

Most of the times we become so defensive that people got irritated with our behaviour...

Now,

If you are calm enough,

Sit down and think of what you can do to improve your reaction upon sensitive issues reflect to you…

Ask yourself, “What is the right way to express your feelings without being offensive to others?”

How are you going to avoid being label as ‘defensive and impulsive.’

I believe none of us like to be called defensive and impulsive…

Because these two words make us feel so negative…

Therefore, we always try to avoid all sort of pessimistic labels possible.

We don’t have to act like an actor or an actress to protect our secrets…

Nor we have to lie about it…

Because all of us have the right to have to own secrets…

As long as it does not affect or harm others…

So,

What shall we do to improve our EQ?

And how shall we avoid being uncomfortable and offended?

Well,

First of all,

We have to know what are the things that we don’t like to talk about…

Secondly,

We need to find out why we don’t like to mention it…

List it down so that you can see it clearly in a form of black and white…

Thirdly,

Find a solution on how to reject topic you refuse to answer without getting angry…

One of the best ways is to decline the issue politely without losing your temper…

Another method which is one of the most popular ways of rejecting can be of…

Changing subject without showing any annoyance…

Of course,

Changing subject matters in the middle of a question may seem rude…

As you tend to leave people hanging in the air…

But it can usable as a cover if it is too much for you to bear…

As long as it prevent you from being provoke…

Lastly,

Emphasizes the method into your life…

Be firm with your answer and let others know that your word is final from you…

They should be able to catch the hint after some time…

In this world,

Nothing is perfect,

Either you avoid the issue altogether…

Or you just give an answer that save everyone including yourself from being nasty.

I know that being composed is hard…

All of us are humans with feelings…

Once in awhile we need to let go of ourselves…

But it is important to find the correct outlet without giving troubling others…

So that we don’t carry ourselves as ‘someone who has no self-control’

Those who are easily affected will feel so unreal when they try to cover themselves…

It is natural to feel helpless at times…

It is also very common to get tongue-tied when being asked questions we refuse to answer…

And most of all,

It is also very easy to lose our feelings in the wrong place…

Therefore,

No matter what the circumstance is,

We should learn how to avoid displeasure especially during communication…

In another word,

We should take the initiative to improve our self…

And most of all, it is to improve our Emotional Quotient...

So that we don’t have to feel so tense when it comes to sensitive matters…

Happy 1st Birthday, Silent Words!

Yup…

It’s ‘Silent Words’ blog 1^st birthday.

I remember more than a year ago before I have this blog, ‘Silent Words’

I had quite a number of other blogs…

But none of them make it up to 6 months…

Partially because I was forever at loss with what I should write….

Back then I thought of closing down all my blogs and forget the whole thing….

To me,

A blog is more or less like a diary….

It is also a place for people to confine their inner soul…

That is to a personal matter…

So, why is it darn hard to write a blog?

I don’t intend to write for the whole world to read…

I just want to write for myself…

I just want to write down how I feel and what I think….

That’s all…

But I don’t know why I cannot seem to find a way to do it...

Until….

One night…

I was lying on my bed praying…

A voice told me that,

“Prayer is our silent words to our soul…

It is also a message to God…

When you talk to someone below whisper….

No ordinary human can hear you anymore…

But your soul can…”

And then out of the blue,

The exact voice said,

“There are messages for you to share…

There are words for you to spread…

Go and re-open your blog and I will guide you thru…

It is no longer a personal diary…

But it will be a place for you to share your thought…”

I obediently switched on my computer and went online…

Part of me feels so silly doing this in the middle of the night…

But something tells me that my heart is right…

“If you don’t try, you won’t know…”

Staring that the default blog,

I really don’t know what to write…

Until a voice told me to titled the blog, “Silent Words”

Right after that,

A stroke of inspiration strike into my mind…

At last I know what I should write…

I should write about my experiences in life…

And how I have overcome it step-by-step…

It will be included with my thought that rarely been told to anyone else except my soul…

Thus, writing this blog is no longer a challenge…

In fact,

It has become one of my hobbies…

Fast forward one year later…

Which is today (24^th November 2011)

‘Silent Words’ has made it existence in the internet for one whole year…

So many people viewed this blog…

Some of my readers left a very heart-felt comment about my blog thru private emails and chat-box…

I don’t know how many of them truly acknowledge it…

But all I know is that,

I just write how I feel deep inside me…

And what I have experienced as a human being…

And what I did to solve some of the situations in life…

Sometimes

I will read some of the posts that I posted few months back…

I realized that the message is not only for my readers,

But it is also for me…

Because as a human being,

I also tend to forget certain things in life and that’s including my experiences…

That is why,

My blog also serve to remind and help me go thru whatever complex circumstances…

After reviewing some of the posts…

I learnt that I have become wise…

I begin to be more observant and sensitive with my surrounding…

In fact,

I started to feel satisfied with myself…

Satisfaction is one thing that seldom being part of me…

Before the existence of this blog,

I was full of displeasure and lots of personal pressure…

But the moment I started to write in this blog,

I began to change my thought and found hope in life…

I don’t know how many of you are reading this…

But I just want you to know that,

Life is not as bad as what you think…

Maybe there are certain circumstances that cannot be avoided…

But there is always a way to divert our reactions and emotions…

And it is by --- changing our thought…

That’s what this blog has done for me…

It changed me into a better person…

Although I am the author of this blog and the entire posts…

I indirectly improve myself by reviewing back what I have written in the past…

Little did I know that...

Actually the only person in this world who can change you is yourself…

And that’s the same goes with me…

With the help of this special blog,

My past has improved my future…

Therefore,

This blog has played a very important part in my life...

And it has become a very special place for me to share my thought…

Because this is where I change myself…

Sincerity…

…is more than just looking into a person’s eyes…

It is more on the person’s feeling…

Sincerity has many different words…

But all of them carry the exact meaning…

For me,

Sincerity means – the TRUTH

Just one word tells it all…

Agree?

I don’t know why I suddenly choose this title…

Maybe because part of me feels that,

Nowadays, it is very difficult to find someone sincere to us…

Be it someone ultra-close to us or even a stranger…

In my point of view,

Sincerity is more than just gestures and words…

In fact,

It is more about our heart…

It is all about how we feel toward someone or something…

I know that our eyes tell a lot about our feelings to others…

If you actually look into someone’s eyes,

You will see their true feeling…

But there are someone people who are very shy…

I am one of them…

It takes a lot of time for people like me to warm-up and gain confident with others…

It is not because we have done something wrong…

In fact, we do nothing wrong at all!

It is just part of our nature to be shy…

It is our inborn character….

Not everyone is easy to catch by looking at their eyes for sincerity…

People like me find it hard to look into other people’s eyes….

And so does others on me…

It is not because I lie or what…

Again, it is due to inborn nature…

Of course,

I will keep on trying my hardest to answer people by looking into their eyes to show my sincerity…

But it’s hard because it is not my trait…

But a lot of people wonder how else we can detect sincerity besides looking into someone’s eyes…

It is by feel…

A voice in your heart will tell you that the person you are being with is sincere…

And if the person lie,

A voice in your heart will tell you, “He or she is lying.”

That’s the thing about the voice in your heart…

It is not something that you can control…

The voice is always there to tell you things even when you are asleep…

Ask a girl who walked in the street all alone by herself,

And then suddenly someone appear behind her all of sudden…

The person can be standing as far as 2 rows of shops within the same corridor…

And the girl knew someone is walking the same direction as her…

I don’t think most girls have cat eyes that enable them to see a person so clearly with more than 2 rows afar…

So, how does she know someone is walking behind her although they are so far away?

It is by feel…

A voice that tells her, “Someone is walking behind you.”

It is the same way as how we know someone is genuine or fake.

Half the time, we are not able to look into someone’s eyes to see if they are true or false…

Therefore,

In times of trouble or loss,

We rely on our inner soul to tell us whether this person is real or not….

And what shall we do to improve the situation…

That’s why,

Sometimes I was quite amazed with myself…

I don’t have to always look at that person…

But just being near them,

I can somewhat sense their thought…

I can fairly tell what they are going to do next even before they take action…

All of this is because,

I use my heart to feel…

From there,

I can almost always know whether this person is right…

I can feel the sincerity in it even without having to look it…

But of course,

It is always better to look at the person straight to the face to detect the entire truth…

This is just to double check for entirely ONLY…

However,

It doesn’t mean that what we see is always correct…

There may be an invisible shadow that blocks our sight.

Well,

Just because I suggest you to check on the person after feeling them

Doesn’t mean that our heart play game with us…

No… It does not…

Our heart is the only one that never lies to us…

Our brain can come up with wild and fanciful imagination that is out of reality…

Our mouth can say anything beyond the fact and the truth…

But our heart can never make up story or whatsoever…

Regardless to how we try to modify the legitimacy

So,

Never think that our heart can twist the reality…

Now do you understand why I say sincerity must be felt…

And not only necessary need to be seen...

Because both of these come from the heart….

Sincerity…

In my dictionary means – the TRUTH!

And the truth can only be verified from our heart…

Because sometimes,

Our eyes may play tricks on us…

But our heart will never do such thing to us…

So,

We need to use our heart to seek for the truth first…

Before allowing our brain to think of the solution…

If we use our head to think first,

We may not get the truth…

Because our brain will give us all sort of pictures that is beyond reality…

So,

In order to discover sincerity:

Use your heart to seek for the truth first…

Then use your brain to think of a logical answer…

From there you will know…

Whether there is truth in it…

Living for a reason

Each of us are like a gem that found inside a rock...

We comes in different colour, shape and size..

We have different purpose to shine..

And it is up to us to make it wide...

Let me ask you a question,

“Why do you want to live in this world?

What is your purpose for surviving until today?”

I know this is kind of a random question…

But this question suddenly popped up in my mind…

And it got me to think about it for some time…

Then suddenly a strong scent of memories washed inside me…

I was a baby with complicated heart problem…

I also inherited several genetic diseases…

Some can be corrected via surgery…

While others will have to rely on miracle…

When I went for my heart surgery at the age of 4,

The doctor discovered that the veins were located wrongly,

Therefore he has to do a bypass surgery.

The operation took about 9 hours to complete…

Right after the surgery,

I was stationed in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 5 days,

During that 5 days period,

I had a dream…

I dreamt of rainbow coloured in the sky,

I dreamt of the song, ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’

From there,

I understand that the sign of a rainbow is to tell me that miracle is here…

I was touched by the beauty of the 7-colour in the sky accompanied by the song…

On the 5^th day inside the ICU,

I finally woke up seeing my mum’s face in front of me…

Being comatose for some time,

I only had rainbow painted in my mind…

Although I was just a 4-year-old kid,

I already understood what is miracle,

Because I am a miracle…

God touched me with the sign of a rainbow…

He shows me that nothing is impossible

As long as you have the willingness to live for your life…

Coming back to my current situation,

I learnt that I actually have a task in hand…

More than my ordinary goals itself…

In fact,

I believe that,

I am here to touch life…

Touching someone’s life is not to by using our pain or surgery or miracles…

But to reach-out to those who are in need of internal healing…

An emotional pain that not even surgery can recues them…

Everyone wants to be connected regardless to where they are…

They need someone to understand them and love them for who they are…

Not seeking others who use their miracle to impress others…

It doesn’t matter when do we have start...

Or when do we have to stop...

It is the matter our readiness...

Someone who is prepared to put forward themselves for others...

That is what I believe I made of…

I am made to go round and heal those broken-hearted people…

But at the same time,

Learn to understand them in my own unique way…

And love them for their real self…

I realized that as I touch someone’s life…

And make them smile all over again,

I found myself total satisfy…

It is like one part of me shining in the cloud…

And it actually remains me of the rainbow in my dreams…

Therefore,

I know that this is what I am truly made of…

It is to make others happy…

Although I know that it is not easy to be happy…

Much less to cheer someone up,

I will always try my best to put in my effort to be a joy to them…

It is just the same as a rainbow,

The rainbow can paint in the sky throughout the entire day,

But those who understand and enjoy it will feel happy…

They know that the rainbow is a miracle sign…

And they believe that miracle will take place very soon,

Therefore the rainbow has done its job by cheering those who cherish its present…

But there will be some people may not appreciate the 7-colour,

They feel that it doesn’t help believing anything,

Let alone a rainbow…

So even though the rainbow is coloured in the sky throughout the entire year,

It may not help…

But at least,

It is there to help those who need it….

And those who are seeking for it…

Subsequently,

I feel like I am a rainbow…

Standing in one place,

Trying my very best to bring joy into someone’s life…

But I understand that not everyone will like it…

As some will find it annoying….

Nevertheless, I am prepared for it…

I do know that when they are ready to accept me,

They will definitely enjoy my presence…

So,

I just continue to do my part well,

And let God do the rest that are beyond me…

Running your own race…

Our life is a journey taking off in a few available tracks...

We are like an aeroplane...

Running on the track and depart in different direction...

Our end-life is our destination...

The journey where our aeroplane go thru is a very special path just for us alone...

This is where no two aeroplane can fly in the exact angle...

Although they may land in the same location...

Credit to one of my former Music lecturers. He was the one who advice me on this and got me to think of every circumstance in a wider view.

I remember an incident,

Where I once did very badly for one of my music subjects…

I recalled myself pouting at the corner of the classroom…

Unable to face my lecturer as he expected me to get good marks…

My lecturer saw me and he came over…

Upon looking at my sad face,

He said,

“You worry too much.”

I looked at him and said,

“Why can’t I do well like the rest of my classmates?

Why I keep on trying but I just cannot get to where I want to be?

Why I cannot be as good as or even better than them?

Am I ultimately useless?”

My lecturer looked at me with gentleness…

“Why are you comparing yourself with others?

How can you run someone else’s race?

Do you know how much people have done in order to get to where they are?”

“I am sure someone else is thinking the same thing of you…

Despite to your weak knowledge in theory…

You have wonderful musical talent…

People are very jealous with the way you perform…

Because they cannot play like you…

They cannot charm the audiences like the way you do…

But only you know how much effort you have inserted in order to get to where you are today.

Nobody can run your race except you….

So, shouldn’t others be jealous of you as much as you do to them?”

I looked at him and think carefully…

“It’s true….

I know a lot of my musical friends said how they envy the way I perform…

How they wish they have my performing talent…

And honestly to say…

I don’t even know what I have done to be so outstanding onstage all the time…

I just do what I thought it is right…

As long as I doesn’t act like a fool…

That’s it…”

My lecturer nodded his head and continued…

“Everybody have different strength…

Some are good in theoretical part…

While others are more on performance branch…”

“Looking at you…

I can see powerful performance in hand…

Unlike majority of your friends…

If I were to compare all of them with you in the same manner…

Then I am not being fair to anyone of you…

For all of you are special in your own ways…”

Looking back at this event,

I learn something very useful in here…

Back then,

I used to compare a lot with others…

When I see someone with better marks than me,

I wondered why I didn’t get even better than them…

When I see someone doing so well…

I wonder why I am not doing well at all…

I keep on and on comparing until my heartache…

Part of me wanted to give up every single thing that I am doing…

So that I can stop comparing for once…

My lecturer read my mind and said,

“Don’t compare yourself with others…

Because you don’t know how much they have done…

Compare yourself with yourself…

See what you have done in the past…

Improve yourself from the past…”

“Because as I said earlier…

‘Nobody can run your race except you…’

Only you can take up your own challenge…

And nobody can run your friends’ race except your friends themselves…

Because nobody knows how much they can exert…

And what are their limits….

If you were to put yourself into their race,

You will definitely lose…

Because there are lots of obstacles that you are not made to go thru it…

But it is only for them to fight the battle by themselves...”

At that moment,

I get to see the picture of his words…

And I found the truth…

Human nature loves to compare with others…

When they see someone else better than them…

They compare non-stop regardless to how good they are…

They forgot that everybody has different strength…

They thought what other people can do…

They also must be able to do it…

When actually there is a firm barrier on their actions…

It is true that you may be able to do what others can do…

But if you realize it…

Actually there is difficulty for you to pass the test…

Some people had it easy to do certain things…

As if they are born to do well in it…

While others struggle at the edge to get it right…

Have you been thru that?

I am sure you do…

Take me as an example…

I love to perform…

To me,

It is just so natural…

And it is so… ME!

I don’t even need to think of how and what I should do in order to perform well…

I just go by flow…

I never think of what will happen if I do what I do onstage…

This is the time where I am totally and ultimately me…

I feel so REAL and no pretence…

I never care who is looking at me and what happened while I am onstage…

It is so unlike when I am off the platform…

When I go off the stage…

I feel so scare…

It is as if,

I left my home and cannot go back…

The feeling is just so different from when I am onstage…

It is like day and night…

Perhaps I am the type that love spotlight…

But never intend to be so good when I am standing above the crowd.

So you see,

I have my own strength and weakness too…

Something that not everyone have it…

My strength is that…

I am confident when I can be in the spotlight…

And my weakness is that,

I am shy when I am offstage…

It is like a pair twins…

With the identical faces but different personalities…

Actually,

That’s what all of us are…

We have our good and bad sides…

And most of our friends will not have the same personality as us…

That is why we cannot always compare anyone with us and us to others…

People can only admire or even being jealous with what we have…

But they can never run on our race-track – aka - our life…

Because they are not made of go thru all our obstacles…

They don’t have our elements in order to break the hindrances…

It is the same with us on the account…

Therefore,

I learnt not to compare with others anymore…

Because we can never go thru what others have been thru…

It is better to compare ourselves with our past…

Then only we can improve for the better…

But to compare yourself within your inner strength…

Upon what you can do to improve from your past…

Focus back on your aspect…

Go thru your own force and flaw…

Don’t interrupt into other people’s path…

Because you can never go thru it…

Come back to where you belong…
